When my mother-in-law got scammed by movers a few months ago, I decided to put on my best son-in-law hat by helping her manage a difficult situation. Her original estimate to move was $900 but the final bill ended up around $3000. A 300% increase from the original estimate! This for a woman who needed to move everything to a storage facility located less than one mile away from her 2-bedroom home. I couldn’t just stand around and watch my mother-in-law get scammed and knew that I had to help her fight this ridiculous bill.

After researching the moving company, I was shocked to discover that this particular moving company wasn’t the only business scamming folks. So many ugly bait & switch scams, yet people continued to hire these companies to move their personal belongings. I was floored and upset because scamming people looked to be the business model for most of the moving industry. So I reached back into my 18 years of entrepreneurial experience and decided to do something about it.

It Wasn’t Always Easy

You see, I experienced a very similar issue nearly 20 years ago after a negative experience with a cleaning company. I had such a negative experience that I decided to open my own cleaning company. You may have even heard of it. It’s called Two Maids & A Mop, and my journey from startup to national brand has been featured in countless national publications over the years.

Of course, my entrepreneurial journey started out with a very humble beginning. Took me two years to earn a profit, and nearly three full years to receive a paycheck, but life started to get better once we created the now famous Pay Enhancement Plan. The plan changed the entire direction of the cleaning company, primarily because it put customer’s needs first while no other cleaning company seemed to care about its customer’s needs. This same phenomenon occurs in the moving industry today, and we believe that our unique compensation plan can solve the same problems that it did 20 years ago inside the cleaning industry.

Your rating will directly determine the exact compensation level that we pay a team of movers. In fact, the plan worked so great at Two Maids & A Mop that it allowed us to grow from a small 250 square foot office space into a nationally recognized brand with 90 locations across the country.
